The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, during the usual red awning press conference, assured that in the country “there is no political persecution against anyone”.
Cabello's comment responds to the return of different opposition leaders, who, according to the leader of the red awning, arrived in the country “with more sorrow and without glory, with much more sorrow and without glory” and with a “visit”.
“I think that they, in truth, came to visit Venezuela (...) they were here they came to their family and went to their country, where they live,” he said, adding that they (the opposition leaders) “left Venezuela to enjoy the money they stole, so much money that allowed them to live seven or eight years abroad without returning to Venezuela.”
Finally, he pointed out that “these opposition gentlemen have never worked in their lives, they have never worked in their lives, their exclusive dedication is to laziness and to see how they continue to steal money from Venezuelans
and Venezuelan women.”
