Diosdado Cabello to the People: We must prepare to fight with our own strength

This Thursday, September 9th, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, emphasized that, although our country needs the support of sister peoples in the fight against imperialism, Venezuelans must prepare to face them with their own strength.

“Let's not expect anything but from ourselves, any welcome support, but we must prepare to do it ourselves; we are truly prepared, because thanks to (Hugo) Chávez he left the road open for us, he left us that path marked out,” said Cabello during the beginning of the Extraordinary Plenary of the PSUV Congress.

In this regard, he reaffirmed that, in the face of threats, the militancy must be clear that this revolution is going to a transition “from a peaceful revolution to an armed revolution”.

“Our party statutes say that we are a revolutionary party, now we are going to be a real revolutionary party,” he said and pointed out that, just as the PSUV is the electoral vanguard, it must now be one in the defense of the Fatherland.

“We must be the vanguard to protect our homeland, to guarantee the independence and sovereignty of our country, to defeat any imperialist aggressor who wants to harm us or wants to believe that our oil will be taken away for free; not a drop will be taken from here because we would make their lives impossible, not a drop of oil will be taken from Venezuela,” he said.
