The general secretary of the United
Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reaffirmed this Thursday that our
Homeland has always been on the side of worthy peoples who have decided to be
free, today more firmly when our territory is besieged by the aggressions of the empire.
“This people has a history of having
fought and we are on the side of worthy peoples who have decided to be free and
in these stories a great example is the Cuban people who throughout
history have also faced the shark,” said Cabello during his
meeting with the Antillean delegation visiting Venezuela.
He also highlighted the importance of this Cuban
delegation that is in the country to ratify the ties of brotherhood and cooperation.
“The enemy has always been common, but now in a more
voracious way, you come as always to remind us that whoever messes with Cuba messes with Venezuela and vice versa,”
he said.
In addition, he stressed that his stay in the country
coincides with the transition from ideological and political struggle to armed struggle, which is taking place as a result of the attacks and actions of the
common enemy, which is North American imperialism.
He reaffirmed that the leadership and militancy of the
PSUV “will always be willing to continue advancing and making the changes imposed on
us by international political dynamics and for that we must always be ready.
And in that we are taking into account the ideology of Commander
(Hugo) Chávez that this is a peaceful revolution, but armed, and in that sense
we have developed the strategy of permanent offensive and we do not allow ourselves to be
cornered by anyone.”
He emphasized that Venezuela will always bet on peace in
the region; and at the same time he stressed that the Community of
Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) today has a great task to maintain it.
For his part, the Secretary of Organization
of the Communist Party of Cuba, Roberto Morales Ojeda, reaffirmed Cuba's solidarity with Venezuela, while stressing that he maintains the recognition
of the
work of President Nicolás Maduro and of the entire leadership of the PSUV in the face of the attacks.
“We say as Martí said: 'Tell me
Venezuela what to serve it'; and in that spirit we are here. To bring alive the CELAC
agreement on a Latin America as a zone of peace and non-interference,” he said.
In the same way, he highlighted the role of the PSUV in the will to defend the Venezuelan people against the attacks of imperialism. At the same time, he appreciated the opportunity to continue working together in matters of functioning and organization for the well-being of both countries.
