This Thursday, the Japan Meteorological Agency (AMJ) reported that an earthquake of magnitude 7.1 was recorded in Miyazaki prefecture in the southwest of the Asian nation.


According to information from AMJ, the earthquake event issued tsunami alerts for the areas of Kochi, Miyazaki, Ehime, Oita and Kagoshima.


The earthquake occurred at 16:43 local time, off the coast of Miyazaki, with a record of 6-low, according to the Japanese seismic intensity scale. The magnitude was revised from 6.9 to 7.1, Xinhua reported.
