Although the right-wing media have tried to sell him as a saint, the opponent Edmundo González is linked to drug trafficking, since his son-in-law, Rafael Tudares Bracho, is linked to an investigation for drug trafficking to the United States.
According to information from the website El Expediente, the investigations that follow González's political son in the United States link him to the arrested Colombian drug trafficker, Abraham Enrique Fernández, alias Alta Amigo, who was arrested on March 23, 2023 in Santo Domingo by the National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD).
Tudares Bracho, who is married to his daughter Edmundo González, Mariana González, at the time Fernández was arrested, held a management position in the Miami-based transportation company AguaExport Latam LLC, which in 2022 was the subject of an investigation for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking to the United States.
In addition,
the website El Expediente states that on April 3, 2022, U.S.
authorities captured the crew members of a boat that go by the names of Carlos Miguel Paulino Marte and Carlos Reinaldo Almonte Almonte Almonte. Both were
charged with conspiracy to possess and attempt to distribute cocaine aboard a
speedboat under U.S. jurisdiction.
In addition, they
specify that the vessel belonged to the company AguaExport Latam LLC, and its
managers, including Jorge Poleo and Rafael Tudares Bracho, were
investigated for their alleged connection to the shipment of cocaine by the Colombian drug trafficker Alta Amigo.
This once again demonstrates the hypocrisy of the Venezuelan right, in trying to lie to people and sell a false image of who is now a presidential candidate and who, in addition to the bloodthirsty past known for participating in death squads against religious and children in El Salvador, is now also complicit in drug trafficking.
