To form patriotic societies in all educational institutions in the country to promote the legacy of the Liberator Simon Bolivar and other heroes of Independence, the Minister of Education, Héctor Rodríguez, requested this Monday during the closing of the XIII National Congress of Patriotic Student Youth (JPE).

“I ask that this network (Patriotic Student Youth), with the network of teachers, with the network of young patriots, be organized in every school and in every high school and form a Patriotic Society. What is your task going to be? Study, promote Bolivar's thinking, our history, our freedom, our heroes and our heroines,” Rodríguez explained from the House of Insurgent History, in downtown Caracas.

Likewise, according to a press release from the Ministry of Education, he indicated that he hopes that next year there will already be a spokesperson for Patriotic Societies in all schools and in all high schools in Venezuela. “And that these types of actions are multiplied by 1,000; that's a real social network,” he said.

On the closing day, some 37 students between 13 and 17 years of age presented the book Campaign of the South, a compilation of essays prepared for the papers, on which the minister inferred: “This has to be repeated systematically, this is part of the patriotic youth that exists in high schools (...) I ask them to make a quantitative leap in the organic sector: Young people publishing books”.

The XIII National Congress of Patriotic Student Youth was held with a focus on the bicentennial of the battles of Junín and Ayacucho.
