This Thursday, Egypt called on all parties to agree on a formula to urgently reach a truce in the Gaza Strip, in which a ceasefire and the exchange of hostages for prisoners are implemented.

Al Qahera News published that Egypt seeks, in the round of talks that begins this Thursday in Doha, to consolidate a truce, “to bring together the points of view” that will lead to an agreement.

The round of negotiations is taking place in the midst of strong secrecy and seen as one of the last hopes to avoid an expansion of the war in the Middle East, the media said in a quote to an anonymous source.

The Palestinian Islamist group Hamas, whose political office is in Doha, indicated that it will not send a negotiating commission to this dialogue, and insists on demanding the application of what was already agreed before “instead of continuing with new rounds”.
