The director of Culture of the Gómez municipality, Argenis Rojas, reported that holding this craft fair where all the cultivators come together to present their work is an opportunity that demonstrates the preservation of traditions.
“So we have a wide variety of products to present to our visiting friends,” he said.
For their part, the men and women who work with their hands and minds in the local tradition expressed great pride, “because I am seeing how the party began, the great power, and that for me it is a pride to come from my house to sell here on the street this craft that I make every day”.
One of the artisans present said that her thing is an art that comes from generation to generation, and in her case, her grandmother taught it to her when she was an 11-year-old girl.
The El Cercado Fair was developed with the support of the national government, the newly elected government and the municipal authorities, who aim to preserve the traditions of the Neo-Spartan people.
