With the objective of strengthening the security of communities in the state of Aragua, the Bolivarian Government is currently carrying out the first phase of dredging and cleaning two kilometers of the El Limón River, said the Minister of the People's Power of Public Works, Juan José Ramírez.

In his account on the social network Instagram, he noted that this strategic work seeks to optimize the watercourse of the body of water and reduce vulnerabilities in the face of the proximity of climate cycles.

Ramírez inspected the progress of dredging accompanied by the governor of the entity, Joana Sánchez and the mayor of the Mario Briceño Iragorry municipality, Brullerby Suárez.

During the tour, the authorities verified the deployment of heavy machinery and the pace of execution of the technical tasks. These works are carried out under the guidelines of the Risk Mitigation Plan 2026, a civil protection policy instructed by the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.

The project has a direct impact on the well-being of some five thousand families living in the sectors of El Limón, Sugarcane, La Candelaria and Arsenal.

The organized community has expressed its support for these preventive efforts. Lolimar Muñoz, spokeswoman for the Apacuana Commune, expressed her recognition for the speed and consistency of the works.

“I thank the president in charge and her team for the daily work they do with the machinery, to dredge the riverbed and thus take preventive measures before the rainy season, because adverse situations occurred in previous years,” he said.

With this dredging phase, the Bolivarian Government reaffirms its commitment to prevention and direct attention to sectors historically affected by hydrometeorological events.
