For the deputy to the National Assembly (AN), Hermann Escarrà, the Simon Bolivar Liberation Organic Law against the Imperialist Blockade and in Defense of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela seeks to bring order and guarantee the right to peace and tranquility of all Venezuelans.

“The Simon Bolivar Liberation Organic Law was produced, against the imperialist blockade and the defense of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for the defense of Venezuelans, for the defense of the National State, which is based on two norms. The first article of the Constitution and Article 130 of the Constitution,” Escarrà said in an interview with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV) and replicated by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN).

This law directly attacks “those citizens who decide to be from there and not from here, asking for military intervention, helping and asking for more unilateral coercive measures, directly or indirectly intervening in the different ways that the North American empire has of blocking and sanctioning and damaging what is the economic and social development of Venezuela,” he explained.

He also mentioned that it provides for up to 30 years in prison and disqualification from holding public office for up to 60 years of politicians who have called for invasions and unilateral restrictive measures against the country, in addition to including sanctions for media that violate the legislation.

Last Thursday, the AN approved in plenary the law, which seeks to protect national sovereignty against economic and political aggressions promoted by the United States.
