From the town of La Sierra in Falcón state, the sectoral vice-president of Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, called on all Venezuelans to become pilgrims for peace in the country.
“Let us all become pilgrims, let us be pilgrims and pilgrims of peace,” he urged in a speech given after completing a walk that toured this Falconian town as part of the deployment of the second phase of the National Pilgrimage for a Venezuela without sanctions and in peace.
He criticized those who criticize this initiative of the Bolivarian Government, which seeks to unite all Venezuelans to demand an end to sanctions against the country.
“There are people who don't like the word peace and much less pilgrims because pilgrims mean dedicating themselves, not dedicating themselves to doing a task with enthusiasm, always with a lot of optimism and clarity about what you are doing,” he said and recalled that the opponents of this collective effort of the patriots were the main promoters of these measures against an entire country and its people.
“Those who criticize are the same people who have asked for sanctions, those who have called for a blockade, and they do it because they are waiting for others to do the job for them,” he said.
He stressed that, contrary to the stateless attitude of some Venezuelans identified with opposition extremism, “we Venezuelans who love this country have decided ourselves to do the work that will lead us to have an independent sovereign free homeland.”
