This Saturday, June 29, officials of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), in ground patrol and search operations, located, dismantled and destroyed material used for illegal mining in the San Antonio sector, Atabapo municipality, in the state of Amazonas.
The operation was carried out within the framework of Operation Bolivarian Shield “Neblina 2024” for the protection of the Amazon territory, as reported by the Strategic Operational Commander of the FANB, Domingo Hernández Lárez, through a post on his account on the social network X.
During the procedure, six gasoline-type fuel drums, three turbines, a motorcycle, two rolls of hose, three motorcycle pumps, 20 meters of PVC pipe and 20 meters of high-pressure hose were seized.
“In the state of Amazonas, according to our territorial legal system, mining and hydrocarbon exploitation is totally prohibited, and the conservation of the environment is a citizen's duty. No national or foreign human group will be above the interests of the Venezuelan State,” said Hernández Lárez.
