FANB seized two boats and outboard motors in Zulia

This Sunday, the Commander of the Zulia Integral Defense Operational Zone (ZODI), G/D. Javier Enrique Magallanes reported that the patrolling, exploration, reconnaissance, scrutiny and saturation of the different critical points of the Zulian territory, a surveillance and control region was activated for the detection of air threats in strategic directions of approach; this was reported

Magallanes highlighted that through Operation Independence 200: Active Resistance and Permanent Offensive, “establishing short-range point defense on the General Rafael Urdaneta bridge and strategic installations in the territory”; a “comprehensive ambush with medium-range means was executed at the air base for the impunity of the enemy”

He also stressed that it was achieved together with the comprehensive joint task force "Cangrejo “, where lake patrols were carried out, resulting in the seizure of two (2) boats and five (5) outboard engines.

They were also achieved with the blockade of waterways “carried out by groups dedicated to drug trafficking that they intended to use”. In the same way, he pointed out that security and defense work guarantees the safety of maritime traffic from the Gulf of Venezuela to the exit of the fishing port sector.

In addition, 54 citizens were rescued from a shipwreck due to the adverse weather conditions that have hit the region and that, in the same way, clothing and explosive material belonging to irregular armed groups were found and destroyed.
