Fires reported at bombed US base in Syria

A bombing with kamikaze drones today targeted the U.S. base of Kherab Al-Jir, located on the highway between the cities of Al-Rumaylan and Al-Yarubiyah, in the province of Hasakeh, in northeastern Syria, reported the Cuban agency Prensa Latina.

This base serves as a supply point for United States forces that have been illegally present in the Arab country since 2014.

After anti-aircraft defenses failed to intercept the rockets, a large fire broke out inside the base facilities.

Washington maintains about 15 bases in Syrian territory without the consent of the Government of Damascus, nor the approval of the United Nations.

Syria denounces this occupation, and assured that the actions of the American military in the national territory encourages terrorist activity and aims to destabilize the country and plunder its wealth.
