During the two days of the conference, hundreds of Aragüeans attended the Maracay Opera Theater to enjoy the different presentations given by professionals such as Mayerling Aparcedo, Dr. Andrés Vega, Professor Eduardo Sotelo, Weidin Mujica, psychologist Angela Villalobos, and Dr. Abel Poleo, the psychologist Andrea Dum and the psychologist Caridad Pérez.

This is why, dealing with issues such as anxiety and stress, Ms. Caridad Pérez, shared the tools and protocols for preventing these conditions and making it easier for parents of families with children with any type of neurodevelopmental disorder to work.

He also touched on topics such as effective language as a useful strategy for communicating ideas effectively at home.

For the first time, Aragua has become the vanguard in the dissemination of neurodivergent information, which is why this first congress joins the different actions that Governor Karina Carpio has developed for the protection of blue children in the state.

This is why Ms. Weidin Mujica thanked the open space for the dissemination of informative and educational content for the entire population of Aragüeña that serves as a multiplier agent for people in need.

“Pleased with this initiative, which joins the Governor of Aragua, to support, let's say, important training and training tools for such a sensitive population that needs it so much, such as the population with autism and neurodiversity and all their families”

Mujica, who is also the regional coordinator of La Casita Azul in the state of Anzoátegui, which are specialized comprehensive care centers that are totally free for people with autism and their families, commented that it is an ideal space for sharing knowledge.

“In the company of my children, Edgardo, who is 21 years old, a person with autism, and my youngest son, Ángel, we share our experience as a family of inspiration and support and also of training, of guidance to all those mothers, fathers and caregivers who are here today and who meet in this wonderful space,” said Mujica.

For her part, the psychologist, Angela Villalobos, spoke with the public about myths and truths in the diagnosis of autism, highlighting the importance of standardized tests, formal evaluation and functioning.

“Today we highlight those differences, what are the characteristics of a formal evaluation and what are the characteristics of a performance evaluation. And we ended up talking about the need to establish a protocol that unifies criteria to make that diagnosis and avoid misdiagnoses, not only for autism, but for other types of childhood conditions.”

The objective of this conference was to provide updated tools and knowledge to parents, professionals and students in the area, in order to promote and promote inclusion.
