Flag-bearer Douglas Gómez climbs to the second rung of the South American podium in shooting sports

The Venezuelan shooter and flag bearer of the national delegation, Douglas Gómez Salazar, made an outstanding performance when he won the silver medal in the men's 25m fast shooting pistol category at the Santa Fe South American Games.

In an exciting and tight definition held at the International Shooting Center, the Venezuelan athlete finished second with a 24-point mark, leaving only one point behind the Peruvian Kevin Altamirano, who won the gold medal with 25 units.

The podium was completed by Felipe Wu from Bari with 18 points.

This is the first medal for Venezuela in the sport shooting discipline.
