The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, accompanied by his team, said this Wednesday that the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) “is the alliance of conscience”, which is committed to building a multicentric and multipolar world.
During a regular working meeting of the organization, as part of the discussion of the 2030 Agenda, the Chancellor specified that the Peoples of “Our America and the Caribbean” are more united than ever to face and overcome the hostile policy of the United States and its international partners, who refuse to accept the failure of their old unilateral rules-based world order.
Along these lines, he said that the ALBA-TCP, which is about to turn 20 on December 14, is an example to follow, because there has never been an organization like this worldwide that “places the human being at the center of integration”.
“These are not countries with the most resources, which subdue those who have little, it is a unique integration model that puts solidarity above all else,” said the minister, referring to the development of Bolivarian Diplomacy for Peace.
The executive secretary of ALBA-TCP, Jorge Arreaza, said that imperial aggressions will never end, so it is important to strengthen the structure of the alliance.
“The aggression will not cease, because there is a historical contradiction because of the dispute over this continent, it is the Monroe Doctrine, the OAS (Organization of American States), its instrument of application, versus the doctrine of Simon Bolivar, the ALBA-TCP, the CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States), which are its fundamental instruments. There is no way to avoid contradiction, to escape it,” he warned, while wishing for the existence of conscience on the part of Washington and its allies to, at least, conclude an armistice or an agreement of respect, despite ideological differences.
