Foreign Minister Yván Gil provided details of the electoral process to the UN technical team

According to the International Oversight Plan for the Presidential
Elections in 2024, the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil,
held a meeting with the UN Electoral Technical Team on Monday.
During the activity, which took place at the “Antonio José de Sucre” Yellow
House and was accompanied by the
Deputy Minister for Multilateral Issues, Rubén Darío Molina, the foreign minister
explained about the electoral process scheduled for July 28 and the role that this represents for national sovereignty.
In addition, through a publication on his account on the social network X, he assured that during the visit to the country, the UN representation will hold meetings with representatives of the Public Authorities and actors of various political parties who will be part of the upcoming election.
Recently, the head of the diplomatic portfolio and the president of the National Electoral
Council, Elvis Amoroso, set up the first working table of the International Oversight
Plan for the Presidential Elections in 2024.
In this regard, Gil said that more than 67 international
electoral bodies from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe,
as well as political, intellectual, academic and technical personalities,
will receive invitations for electoral support and deployment in the coming days.
The participation of international observers reiterates the commitment of the Bolivarian Government to complying with the Barbados Agreements and the Caracas Comprehensive Agreement, in which the request for invitations to technical electoral observation missions was foreseen, based on the Promotion of Political Rights and Electoral Guarantees; which included the European Union, the Panel of Electoral Experts of the UN, the African Union, the Inter-American Union of Electoral Agencies and the Carter Center.
