Foreign ministers of Venezuela and Türkiye show the excellent results of bilateral relations

The foreign ministers of Venezuela and Türkiye, Yvan Gil and Hakan Fidan respectively, met this Saturday, February 24, at the headquarters of the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Caracas, with the purpose of strengthening good bilateral relations between the two countries.

During a joint press conference, Gil reaffirmed the commercial importance that exists between nations, “we have exchanges in industrial, petrochemical, energy, mining, naval, tourism and the expansion of cooperation in air communications.”

“The commercial cooperation between Türkiye and Venezuela is increasing every day, the import and export of products between the two countries is becoming more important every day,” he said.

He also explained that they reviewed the cooperation agenda, “which in 2023 generated more than 800 million dollars in commercial exchange and, by presidential instruction, is estimated to rise to 3 billion.”

Along the same lines, he pointed out that Caracas and Ankara have “coordinated new areas of cooperation for the mutual benefit of our peoples and in the context of the new multipolar world and of solidarity.

Türkiye supported us a lot against Venezuela's unilateral defense sanctions,” added the Venezuelan Foreign Minister.

For his part, Hakan Fidan said that they expect the trade volume between the two countries to reach the goal of 3 billion dollars this year, “a goal set by our leaders with great effort”.

Fidan announced that energy companies in Türkiye have shown their interest in participating in agreements with Venezuela.
