The former president of Colombia, Ernesto Samper, this Thursday, October 9, expressed his rejection of the interventionist actions of the United States in the Caribbean, with bombings and extrajudicial executions against alleged vessels linked to drug trafficking.

In this regard, in his account on the social network X, he stressed that “it is contradictory that President Trump seeks peace to stop the genocide of Israel in Gaza, while unleashing a war in the Caribbean with disproportionate bombings and extrajudicial executions against alleged vessels linked to drug trafficking.”

He also stated: “We all know that only 8% of drug trafficking to the United States passes through the Caribbean, while the majority goes through the Pacific.”

“These military operations, in addition to being unjustified, violate international law of the sea and the due process of people who have been practically massacred,” he stressed.

Samper said that as Latin Americans and the Caribbean, “we must express solidarity with the commission of U.S. congressmen who are demanding information about the circumstances in which these actions took place.”
