The Government of France reiterated its call to the countries of the United Nations (UN) for the recognition of the State of Palestine, which would promote the end of the genocide by the Zionist regime of Israel in the Gaza Strip.
“In New York, together with 14 other countries, France launches a collective call: we express our willingness to recognize the State of Palestine and invite those who have not yet done so to join us,” wrote the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, in X.
The French government launched this “call from New York” at the end of a ministerial conference at the UN on the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, after President Emmanuel Macron himself announced last week that his country will recognize the State of Palestine during the next General Assembly of the multilateral organization, in September of this year
France, Canada and Australia, member countries of the G20, are part of the collective call for Palestine. In this regard, 147 of the 193 full member countries of the United Nations have recognized a State of Palestine, which currently has the status of an observer State and not a member of the UN.
