From the
José Antonio Anzoátegui Industrial Complex G/D (CIJAA), PDVSA Super Octano shipped the first
shipment of 43,000 barrels of MTBE (additive), bound for the Cardón Refinery, at the Paraguaná Refinery (CRP), in Falcón state.
This first delivery represents
a historic milestone for Super Octano, a subsidiary attached to the Vice Presidency of Petroleum
Refining of Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA), after the reactivation of
this plant, on February 21, 2024, after a five-year shutdown.
With this reliable supply of
MTBE, which is an oxygenating additive to improve the octane rating of gasoline, the Venezuelan energy
industry continues to strengthen
operational reliability, by guaranteeing the supply of the national vehicle fleet.
In this regard, the president of
Super Octano, José Miguel Castro, stressed that this first office is
truly a collective feat, an achievement of all workers as well as reliable
proof that the MTBE production unit is fully
recovered, in optimal conditions for continuous production, PDVSA press reports.
Castro also added that this
departure means that PDVSA has everything necessary to produce high-octane gasoline
, complying with environmental regulations and regulations for
the proper functioning of automotive units that circulate throughout the country.
“We are making our own efforts
from each of our jobs, increasing the capacity to
manage and ship products, working as a team, contributing to the energy
consolidation of the sovereign homeland,” he said.
