FUNVISIS reports more than 210 seismic events in the country between July 10 and 16

The Venezuelan Foundation for Seismological Research (FUNVISIS), through the Venezuelan Seismological and Tsunami Warning Service, presented its detailed weekly report on the seismic activity recorded in the national territory, in which it reported that a total of 211 seismic events in the country were recorded during the period between July 10 and 16, 2026
According to the technical report, published by FUNVISIS on its Instagram account, the earthquakes were located in a geographical area between latitudes 5° and 14° North, and longitudes 59° and 74° West.
He explained that the recorded earthquakes had a range of magnitude (Mw) that ranged between 1.6 and 4.2, of which 154 events were lower than 3.0, a total of 28 between 3.0 and 3.9, and only 26 between 4.0 and 4.9, and 3 events were recorded greater than or equal to 5.0.
FUNVISIS reiterated to the public that, due to the nature of geological phenomena, it is not possible to predict earthquakes.
In this regard, the institution emphasized that prevention is the best tool to face this type of situation and called on the population to be informed through official channels.
