The National Art Gallery (GAN) will inaugurate
in its spaces this Saturday, July 26, the exhibition “Synesthesia.
Persona-Color”, by the young Italian-Venezuelan artist Marina Mattei, as part
of the Young Artist Program promoted by the National Museums Foundation of the Ministry of
Popular Power for Culture.
According to information from MINCULTURA, Mattei
presents a set of 12 paintings that explore the connection between the
perception of people and the manifestation of colors and shapes, inspired by the
theories of synesthesia and the contributions of Kandinsky.
The exhibition also includes five
portraits of beings close to the artist; as well as a self-portrait of Marina. Each portrait is accompanied by
a vibrant abstraction of various shades and figures that, in essence,
reflect the colors and shapes that the artist perceives in the people portrayed.
The entrance to the exhibition “Synesthesia. Persona-Color” is completely free and will be open to the general public, offering a unique opportunity to enjoy this innovative artistic proposal.
