A total of 300 buildings have been inspected in Caracas, by the Capital District Government (GDC), after the earthquakes of last June 24, said the head of this governmental body, Nahum Fernández.

Through his social networks, Fernández explained that the teams are being deployed throughout the capital city to ensure the safety of the town.

In this regard, he indicated that, in order to respond to families about their homes, a plan has been defined that consists of three phases. The first seeks to determine if the building is not structurally habitable, in order to proceed to demolish it.

Secondly, he specified that buildings with repairable damage must be addressed for refurbishment, while the third point involves locating those buildings that are damaged, but that can be inhabited.

On the other hand, he stressed that temporary shelters have been set up to provide assistance to affected families. These spaces are attended by a group of doctors and young volunteers to care for the victims and manage the resources that are donated.
