The People 's Power Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, assured this Friday that the “ongoing genocide against the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, has revealed the limitations of the United Nations and the international system as a whole to stop this extermination.”

During the VI Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations, the Foreign Minister rebutted that despite the “brutality of this criminal aggression, there are still governments that, on the one hand, provide Israel with the means to continue its crimes, and, on the other, insist on providing them with a framework of impunity as if they were above the law”.

In this regard, in the context of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, he assured that this regrettable reality highlights the dangers of unilateralism that threatens the peoples of the world and jeopardizes international law and multilateralism, while stating that this mechanism “cannot remain silent in the face of the situation of the Palestinian people and, consequently, in the face of attempts to unleash a regional-scale conflict in the Middle East”.

Gil ruled that without the support of “certain Western States” fascism in Tel Aviv could not carry out its massacres, “the U.S. regime is keeping the United Nations Security Council paralyzed today.”
