Last Sunday, members of the Global Sumud Flotilla left the port of Barcelona for the Gaza Strip with the objective of breaking the blockade that Israel has maintained on the devastated Palestinian enclave since 2007.

The volunteers of this civilian humanitarian mission intend to make visible the consequences of the ethnic cleansing carried out by Israeli Zionism against the Palestinians, which has already left at least 63,459 civilians killed and more than 160,256 injured since October 2023, not counting the thousands of bodies that have not yet been rescued from the rubble.

According to detailed information from Telesur, 26 boats set sail on Sunday at 03:00 (local time) on a journey that seeks to be a bridge of solidarity with the Palestinian population suffering from a famine imposed by the Israeli regime.

In the last 24 hours, seven Gazans have died from hunger and malnutrition, bringing the number of people killed by this cause to 339, including 124 children.

“This is not a charity mission, it's an act of solidarity,” said Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, one of the 300 people who have joined this new humanitarian mission made up of activists and organizations from 44 countries.
