Through the “Barcelona Garden City” afforestation plan, the Bolivarian Government aims to establish 2,000 ornamental plants this year on the main avenues of the capital city of the state of Anzoátegui.
This includes holding days until December 19, the date on which the 200th anniversary of the Chuquisaca Decree of the Liberator Simon Bolivar is commemorated, an instrument that sought to cultivate sensitivity and love for nature.
According to the regional press, this initiative is part of the sixth transformation and the Great Mother Earth Venezuela Mission, which is being promoted by the national Government.
For the first planting of Ciudad Jardín, ornamental plants such as palm, purple and green tea, crotos, chaguaramos, trinitarias and in some spaces, apamates were used. Reforestation will be carried out in a prioritized manner on Pedro María Freites, Miranda, Juan de Urpin, Cumanagotos, Costanera, Jorge Rodríguez intercommunal and Alterna Argimiro Gabaldón avenues, which will not only improve air quality and aesthetics of the city, but will also offer long-term ecological benefits.
