Government of Aragua articulates actions with unions to accelerate recovery after earthquakes

The governor of Aragua, Joana Sánchez, held a meeting with representatives of the construction, health and education unions, as well as with mayors of several municipalities, to coordinate proposals aimed at strengthening the entity's recovery after the earthquakes that occurred last June 24.

The meeting was attended by the mayors of Girardot, Santiago Mariño and Ocumare de la Costa de Oro, as well as presidents of professional and technical associations, who evaluated strategies to support the Venezuela Renace national plan and accelerate care for affected communities.

During the day, Sánchez said that the actions will focus on three priority areas: infrastructure, health and education, with the purpose of advancing the rehabilitation of impacted areas, strengthening care for the population and strengthening the provision of public services.

He also explained that the construction sector will contribute to road and housing infrastructure diagnoses, while health and education unions will participate in updating contingency and care protocols in municipalities.

“In the specific case of Aragua, the construction sector will actively support road and housing infrastructure diagnoses, while the health and education sectors will optimize contingency and direct care protocols in each of the municipalities,” he said.

Sánchez said that the recovery of the state requires joint work between public institutions and different professional sectors. In addition, he assured that multidisciplinary teams will continue to be deployed to meet the needs derived from the emergency.
