The Government of Barinas, together with the entities of the infrastructure area and the Mayor's Office of the Bolívar municipality, are working to make traffic more fluid to the town of Calderas in the aforementioned municipality, specifically in the Los Naranjos and Buenos Aires sectors, where road damage was caused as a result of the last rains and floods of the Rio Azul.

The general secretary of the Bolivarian government of Barinas, Mayerlin Graterol, together with the mayor Mayra Jaramillo and representatives of the Ministry of Popular Power for Transportation; the Institute of Transportation and Roads of Barinas (INTRAVIAL); the Secretary of Territorial, Regional and Municipal Planning, confirmed the work being undertaken in order to solve the problem in the shortest possible time.

He specified that, according to the technical report, they are working to protect the support of the war bridge with rock-cement; on the construction of a variant for access to the town, as well as on the rectification of the 800-meter riverbed upstream and 500 meters downstream of the war bridge.

On behalf of the governor of the entity, Adán Chávez and the Bolivarian Government, Graterol said that they immediately set out to respond for the good of those who live in this area of the Andean foothills.

“The rainfall that occurred caused the increase in the flow of the Rio Azul, carrying torrential lava that undermined the left bank and part of the road protection, sections that are now being corrected and that did not suffer major consequences, thanks to the hard work that had been done previously on the mother rock, so that it was possible to favorably sustain the road passage to Calder a,” he explained.

He also stressed that part of the task to be carried out is to rescue areas of the Piedra del Patio tourist space that was also affected due to what the river swept away.
