The Government of Bolívar State, faced with the advance of the flooding of the Orinoco River, is implementing a comprehensive care plan for families affected by the heavy rains recorded at the headwaters of the tributary.

The governor of the entity, Yulisbeth García, in her account on the social network Instagram, points out that she carried out an inspection day in the La Toma sector of Ciudad Bolívar, accompanied by prevention and security agencies, with the aim of reinforcing preventive actions and ensuring timely assistance in case of emergencies.

He specified that the height of the river has exceeded the green alert and is only 15 centimeters away from reaching the yellow alert, estimated at 17 meters above sea level.

Although this sector remains in the green phase, at least 20 homes have already been affected, whose families have received direct assistance from the local government.

The regional president reported that constant vigilance is maintained on the three most vulnerable fronts: the municipalities of Caroní, Cedeño and Angostura del Orinoco.

He reiterated the support of the Bolivarian Government, stressing that “President Nicolás Maduro maintains his commitment to immediate attention to our people.”

To meet basic needs, medicines, food and other necessary supplies have been provided to preserve the health and well-being of affected families, following the protocols established for this type of event.

García called for calm, in addition to stressing that “there is a whole logistics chain of expert men and women who review this natural phenomenon every hour, to avoid events greater than regret”.
