Government of La Guaira held “A Star of the Sea” social protection day in Arrecife

The social program Una Estrella de Mar
was deployed in the community of Arrecife,
in the Catia la Mar parish, to
benefit a total of 6,333 inhabitants with a comprehensive approach that
prioritized health care and entrepreneurs.
The activity was chaired by the regional president, Alejandro Terán; accompanied by
the First Combatant, María Ramos de Terán; the Minister of Popular Power for Urban Agriculture, Jhoanna Carrillo; the Deputy Minister of Popular Power
for Habitat and Housing, Osmel Mejías and the head of the Great Venezuela Youth Mission, Genesis Garvett.
“More than a social day, it is a sign of
defending the Homeland, because defending the Fatherland is not just a war issue or
a military issue: it involves meeting the needs of the people, providing them with quality
services, social protection, health, education, because even in the midst
of a blockade, policies to protect the people do not stop and that is our
best weapon of defense,” said Terán.
During the day, 1,181 health
cases were treated, of which 717 medications and 138 technical aids were delivered.
In addition, 524 cases of pediatric care were registered and another 419
boys and girls enjoyed free development activities.
On the other hand, the Ministry of
Economic Development promoted support for entrepreneurs by providing a
total of seven training courses on food handling and cost
structure, as well as the delivery of 158 implements to 45 entrepreneurs
according to their respective areas of work.
While through the Omar Ramírez Cabrera program, carriers benefited from the ABC kit (oil, battery and rubbers).
