The governor of the state of Mérida, Jehyson Guzmán, activated an emergency plan in a joint effort with the Ministry of Public Works and the Autonomous Toll and Road Service to address and manage risks in the La Vega I community, in the Alberto Adriani municipality, and thus guarantee the flow vehicular.
According to information
published on the Venezolana de Televisión (VTV) website, in
recent days, the entity has been affected by heavy rains, causing several emergencies due to the risk of landslides in several sectors; for this
reason, the regional government activated a contingency plan with machinery to
remove material from the surrounding mountains that obstructed road traffic.
Guzmán
alerted the inhabitants of the area to possible risks, due to the forecast
of rains for the coming days, and recommended that they follow the recommendations of the
authorities, VTV said.
