Government of Táchira honors rescuers who served in La Guaira after a double earthquake

The government of the state of Táchira and the Legislative Council of the entity presented awards and decorations to the prevention, rescue and care teams that supported the search and rescue efforts following the double earthquake of last June 24.

During the activity, 170 decorations were awarded to Civil Protection officials with the Order Great Shield of Táchira, to Topos of Ciudad Bolívar with the Cipriano Castro Order and to medical teams with the Order Dr. Rafael Márquez Morales.

Governor Freddy Bernal said that this recognition honors the work of Tachirense rescuers and volunteers who were on the front line of support in the face of the emergency that impacted thousands of people in the capital region.

Among the tasks carried out by the Tachirense teams in La Guaira, the direct rescue of 19 people, the medical care of 5,958 people with minor injuries and the evaluation of 646 buildings stand out.
