This Friday, June 19, the state government delivered six new fully equipped ambulances to outpatient clinics, CDIs and popular clinics in six municipalities in the state.

These are actions to consolidate the referral and emergency health system in communities, including indigenous and fishing communities.

The units were assigned to strategic and difficult to access areas, such as in the Tokuko indigenous population, Machiques municipality; the fishing town of Barranquitas, Rosario de Perijá municipality; the La Sierrita CDI, which serves three border parishes in the Mara municipality; the El Venado Popular Clinic, Baralt municipality; in the Fabricio Ojeda housing development in Lagunillas and one more dedicated to the Santa Rita municipality, details a local press release.

With this equipment, 46 ambulances were delivered during the administration of Governor Luis Caldera, who stated that when he took office there were only two operations in service 171, so this advance represents a profound change in the capacity for immediate response.
