This Sunday, April 19, the governor of the state of Táchira, Freddy Bernal, stressed that the sanctions, the blockade and the coercive measures “have not only hit the Chavistas, no, it has been proven for years; they hit the entire Venezuelan people.”

This was stated in his speech in San Cristóbal, Táchira state, on the occasion of the Great Pilgrimage United for a Venezuela without Sanctions and in Peace, where he emphasized that unilateral coercive measures have mistreated the quality of life of Venezuelans.

He explained that “ordinary people have been hit, because sanctions don't allow us to balance the currency and salaries disappear into people's hands; of course, people need a better salary.”

“The teachers, the doctors, the nurses, the cops, but... How do you increase your salary if you have blocked us for 10 years?” , he stressed.

In this regard, he stressed that despite this situation, “Táchira has never stopped because, even with a blockade, it has exchanged 435 million dollars with Colombia”, while stating the possible achievements that would be achieved in the entity after the lifting of unilateral coercive measures.

He said that the vast majority of sectors in Venezuela understand the negative impact of sanctions and explained that they have affected the country's border region.

In addition, Bernal also stressed that “this is not a time for violence or for trenches, it is time to unite for a single purpose. Let's put violence aside.”
