The governor of the state of Táchira, Freddy Bernal, emphasized that the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States do not exempt anyone, “they have hit the quality of life of all Venezuelans beyond any political flag.”
During the tour that takes place in San Cristóbal on the occasion of the beginning of the pilgrimage announced by the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez, Bernal assured that the vast majority of workers, businessmen, entrepreneurs, religious, want peace, “to remove sanctions and to unblock our access to international transactions.”
“The thousands of young people who have gone abroad looking for a better future have been the product of sanctions and when they send remittances we have to go and look for them in Norte de Santander because we don't have economic freedom, viability to make transactions,” he recalled.
He pointed out that we must participate in pilgrimages, “this is not the time for the trenches, it is the time to seek what unites us and what unites us, it is the desire to fight for prosperity and peace”.
The governor stressed that in the last year there has been an exchange of more than 454 million dollars between Norte de Santander and Táchira with sanctions, “if they take them away from us, we will surely reach between 600 and 800 million dollars.”
“Without sanctions, we will generate 15,000 direct jobs in Táchira, which would be prosperity, economic growth, to recover the quality of life that has been hit by a unilateral war against the people,” he added.
Bernal, on behalf of the people of Tachira, confirmed his resounding support for the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, and called for the lifting, without conditions, of all economic sanctions so that Venezuela can move forward.
“Táchira is the only state with five Catholic schools, five seminaries and we have a deep-rooted Christian faith, and that is why we are also united by peace, because Christ is the protection of the poor, Christ is against violence, against war, against exclusion, Christ is united,” he said.
