The governor of Amazonas, Miguel Rodríguez, paid tribute to the victims of the plane crash that occurred in the jungle last Tuesday, July 29, in which seven people died, including a captain of the Bolivarian Air Force and a group of Yanomamis.

He recalled that the indigenous people were returning to their community of Parima B, after having been treated for health problems.

He stressed that these aviators carry out these flights in the Venezuelan jungle, “they do nothing but transport patients and attend to the needs of those who live in the jungle.”

The governor accompanied the remains of those who have their residence in La Esmerald and, later, moved to the Sierra de Parima, where other of the victims lived.

Rodríguez regretted what happened and indicated that “it is not easy to describe how a brother or sister who leaves to himself feels, receives and leaves to himself, but who will continue through this Sierra de Parima walking and walking in the steps and life of each one of them, of each one of them.”

The aircraft is a Cessna Grand Caravan C-208B, acronym AMB 4292, which belonged to the Military Aviation Air Transport Group. The military victim was Captain Luis Alberto Durán Caripa (co-pilot).
