This Tuesday, the governor of the state of Apure, Wilmer Rodríguez, led a meeting with various productive and social sectors of the entity to support the national demand for the end of economic sanctions against Venezuela, an activity framed in the pilgrimage that began last April 19.

The regional president stressed the importance of cohesion between rural workers and the National Government to overcome the limitations imposed on regional development. Hurry up with a single slogan, with a single purpose, which is peace and now the end of the blockade that has done so much damage to our country,” Rodríguez emphasized.

The president pointed out that the impact of these measures does not distinguish sectors, assuring that “the blockade and sanctions do not measure size, color or race, they affect us all, we have experienced it and we have felt it.” He recalled that the entity has a historic commitment to food sovereignty, especially from its agricultural production units in the savanna.

“Today we can say that Apure is going to be an example to say that they do what Apure is doing because we already have almost 60% of the registered numbers,” said the governor regarding the current livestock census.

He also explained that this level of organization will allow us to know exactly the number of animals in the region to optimize the distribution of resources and to advance fundamental health goals, such as the definitive eradication of foot-and-mouth disease in the local herd.

“We people from Apurea want to return for that time, we Venezuelans want to return for that time,” said the governor, recalling the years when small producers received direct financing, such as the granting of heifers, without current banking restrictions. The governor called for recovering these credit conditions to empower rural workers who, despite difficulties, are willing to continue producing for the country.

This deployment seeks to make visible the impact of coercive measures on the country's daily life, highlighting that the union of all factors is the only way to guarantee peace and the well-being of citizens.
