Governor Serrano: Cacique Higoroto Commune in Miranda is an example of unity and leading democracy

In the spaces of the Argelia Laya University in the Brión municipality, Miranda state, a popular assembly was held with the Cacique Higoroto Commune, which brings together more than nine thousand 285 inhabitants distributed in 31 Community Councils.
The purpose of the meeting was to recognize the mobilization and participation of this area, which emerged as the most voted commune in the Barlovento axis, during the National Popular Consultation on March 08.
During the day, the governor of the entity, Elio Serrano, highlighted the level of organization of this Commune. “We are here to applaud the will of a people who not only voted, but decided their destiny. The Cacique Higoroto Commune has demonstrated that the key to territorial success is unity and mass participation,” he said.
For his part, the deputy Nicolás Maduro Guerra stressed that the massive vote in Higuerote is a clear message about the efficiency of the popular consultation system.
He stressed that the projects chosen by the community will receive the necessary support for their immediate execution, by ensuring that resources reach directly to the heart of the neighborhoods.
“Venezuela is the only country in the world that discusses public policies with its inhabitants. That is true participatory and leading democracy,” he emphasized.
The member of the Cacique Higoroto Commune, Maricarmen Herrera, explained that through these consultations, resources have been acquired to generate solutions in terms of public services, infrastructure and thus increase the quality of life of the inhabitants of the Commune.
