From the Naval Base “Mcal. Juan Crisóstomo Falcón”, in Falcón state, the fighting forces of the fishing sector activated the Community Militia Units, in order to strengthen the nation's comprehensive defense against recent imperial threats, a day led by the governor of the entity, Víctor Clark.
During a presidential pass, Clark stated that in the region units are active in 226 Community Circuits comprised of women, men and families, fisherwomen, members of the police and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) who are willing to organize, build and strengthen the capacity to defend the sea, sovereignty and the sense of national belonging.
For his part, the Minister of Popular Power for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Juan Carlos Loyo, stressed that this mobilization strengthens comprehensive defense, from the maritime axis, with the active participation of seafarers, guided by love for the Fatherland and commitment to national sovereignty.
He also noted that in the mobilization there is “an exemplary union” of all sectors in defense of national sovereignty after the aggressions of the North American empire that seeks to undermine the peace of the nation.
The sector's spokesman, Luis Díaz, expressed his support for the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro. “These presidents of intervening countries do not understand that our homeland has history, conscience and patriotic sentiment; they are not going to be able to subdue this fishing people,” he said.
