During the Elorza festivities in 2026, a massive parade took place that toured the main streets and avenues of the town, located in the Rómulo Gallegos municipality of the state of Apure.

The activity, which began at the Harp Monument and culminated in the manga by Coleo Alí Morales Guerrero, brought together more than 300 riders who, at the sound of the harp, four and maracas, paraded before the eyes of tourists and residents, thus preserving the most authentic traditions of the Llanera region.

The governor of Apure State, Wilmer Rodríguez, highlighted the importance of keeping customs alive.

“The parade is about reliving everything that the Llaneros did; they are our roots. We are still committed to rescuing our culture, our idiosyncrasy, flatness. The plain is one and it unites us because it is our identity,” he emphasized.

For his part, the renowned artist Jorge Guerrero expressed his joy at the impressive parade and extended an invitation to his own and visitors- “Here we are in the most Creole part of the map, Elorza, celebrating flatness and uniting these two nations across the plain. What do these holidays mean? This means everything to us Llaneros, because here all of Venezuela, all of Colombia and the whole world converge,” said Guerrero.

The equestrian day reaffirmed Elorza as the cultural epicenter of the plains, where the tradition of coleus and musical accompaniment are intertwined to kick off one of the region's most emblematic festivities, projecting its legacy beyond national borders.
