Gran Misión Venezuela Joven serves families at the UMC camp in La Guaira

A new day of the Route of Hope was held by the Great Venezuela Youth Mission (GMVJ) in the temporary camps, an initiative designed to serve families affected by the two earthquakes that occurred last June 24 of this year in the country.

The president of the GMVJ, Rosinés Chávez, led the day at the Maritime University of the Caribbean (UMC), where various recreational activities were carried out, including board games, teaching activities, face painting and globe magic.

In addition, sports activities were offered, in which a boxing class was highlighted by the Mocho Navas Gymnasium for children and young people, social beautification care and psychological care was provided to Guaireña families.

The deployment was attended by the heads of the national leaders of the Great Mission: Erick Chávez, Belmari Landaeta and Eirimar Malavé, together with Jesús Rojas Tarazona, Deputy Minister of Productive and Working Youth.

“The treatment in the temporary camps has been good. The experience is strong because it is not easy to live in a situation like this: to have your house and, from one moment to the next, to be left without it; but so far they have given us what we need,” said Demelimar Capote, one of those affected by the entity.

For her part, Luisa Carvajal, a resident of the Luisa Cáceres sector of Arismendi, thanked God for being alive and for allowing her grandson to be rescued safely from the rubble.
