The head of the Great Viva Venezuela Mission, Tarek William Saab, this Saturday, June 27, led a display of solidarity and support at the Guayana Esequiba Cultural and Sports Center, located in the San Bernardino parish.
On that day, they were received by the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, and her team, who received donations of clothing, medicine and food.
Saab was accompanied by the Deputy Ministers of Culture, Gabriela Simoza, Ignacio Barret and Mary Pemjean, in this initiative that seeks to serve families who are in refugee status after the earthquakes that recently hit the country.
In this regard, Saab expressed solidarity with the Venezuelan people and with the families of those affected and fatal victims of an unprecedented event for Latin America, such as the one that occurred on June 24 in the country where two strong earthquakes occurred simultaneously.
He highlighted the timely, immediate and effective action of the Venezuelan State under the direction of the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, to face the terrible imprint that the earthquakes left on the geography and spirit of Venezuela and on those who live there.
He explained that teams of cultural promoters and artists were deployed in various service centers, such as the Guayana Esequiba sports and cultural space in San Bernardino.
During the day, Saab was also accompanied by outstanding cultors such as Iván Pérez Rossi and Francisco Pacheco. The purpose of the visit, in addition to delivering the donations, was to offer a message of spiritual encouragement to those affected.
He recognized the efforts made by Mayor Carmen Meléndez, both in organizing the shelters in the capital city.
