As part of the Great Mission Viva Venezuela Mi Patria Querida, the San Agustín parish will host this Wednesday, June 17 at 3 p.m., the forum entitled “Homage to Saint John the Baptist”, a cultural event of great relevance that will take place in the facilities of the emblematic Alameda Theater.

In a review of the Ultime News portal, he points out that the information was provided by the poet Tarek William Saab, who specified that the event will include the participation of prominent representatives of the San Agustín cultural community, such as Reinaldo Mijares (director of 100% San Agustín) and the community leader and cultor Jesús Guzmán, as well as representatives of the Brotherhood of San Juan Bautista of the parish San Agustín, referring to the institution's press release.

Saab said that “this initiative was created with the purpose of honoring and deepening the cultural practices and knowledge linked to this festive cycle, whose roots go back to the 18th century in enslaved Afro-Venezuelan communities.”

He also stressed that “for the 'Sanjuaneros', these celebrations are not only acts of faith, but a symbol of cultural resistance and freedom that allows us to evoke the memory of their ancestors”.

The meeting will serve to reflect on the importance of the transmission of this intangible cultural heritage.

Finally, Saab assured that with this forum, the Great Viva Venezuela Mission reaffirms its commitment to the custody and dissemination of one of the most significant festivities of Venezuelan identity.
