The living legends of Venezuelan basketball, Gregory Vargas and Néstor “Mamá Osa” Salazar, received the José Antonio Anzoátegui Order in their first class from the state's governor, Luis Marcano.

The award of this highest regional award rewarded the work of both professionals, who were essential for Marinos de Anzoátegui to reach the twelfth championship of the Venezuelan Professional Basketball Super League, according to the sports press.

The recognition of the Regional Executive highlighted the point guard, who positioned himself as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the season and consolidated his place as the athlete with the most titles in the history of Venezuelan basketball.

For his part, Salazar reached his seventh title as technical director at the close of this campaign. With this achievement, the strategist set an absolute and historic record in the country's sports. The formal delivery took place on the Paseo de la Cruz y el Mar in Puerto La Cruz
