The governor of the state of Guárico, José Vásquez, announced the start of rice planting corresponding to the North Summer Cycle 2024 - 2025, which has a projection of more than 48,000 hectares.
From plot 211 of the Rio Guárico Irrigation System, in Calabozo, he explained that for this productive period, tests are being carried out on the technified dry seeding system, which will allow better performance to be achieved, Vásquez reported through his account on the social network Instagram.
He pointed out that 1,260 producers and farmers are participating in this season, whom he called to work together to obtain the best results.
Vásquez reaffirmed his commitment to the agricultural sector, stating that he will continue to provide productive forces with the necessary inputs to ensure successful production.
“We will continue to support our producers with the necessary resources so that they can carry out their activities in optimal conditions,” he said.
He added that the objective is to continue consolidating Guárico as the country's leading rice producer, strengthening food security and boosting the country's economy.
The planting intention for the North Summer Cycle 2024 - 2025 exceeds the historic record reached last year, when more than 46,000 hectares were cultivated.
