During a meeting with different sectors of the Guárico state, the Sectorial Vice President for Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stated that “Venezuela needs us united” and maintained that the country can only move forward if each political, social and community actor assumes responsibility within the same national project.
He pointed out that unity is not an abstract call, but rather a concrete behavior that is expressed in the way we work, decide and relate to the country.
Cabello explained that unity involves recognizing that everyone is part of the “Venezuela team”, regardless of differences. He indicated that collective strength is demonstrated by facts and cited as an example the recent performance of the national baseball team, whose players, coming from different leagues and countries, met under the same shirt. “They didn't just show up wearing the Venezuelan jersey; they stuck it in their hearts and lifted the spirits of a country because they worked as a team,” he said.
He added that a group is not the same as a team because in a group particular interests can coexist without a common purpose, while in a team no one acts to harm it. “If you want to be part of the Venezuela team, even if you are an opponent, you must work for Venezuela. And when it's your turn to govern, do it better than the one you were before,” he said.
He stressed that exercising opposition does not mean acting against the country, but rather contributing to what is necessary for its functioning and to meet the needs of the population.
