This Friday, July 18, the deputy to the National Assembly (AN) Gustavo Villapol pointed out that although social networks contributed to communication, they have now become the legitimators of lies.

“It's true that social networks socialized, what you had already socialized in Venezuela was the possibility of being communicators and communicators, but at the same time they became the ones that legitimize lies,” he said during his participation in the program Sin Truco Ni Maña.

He pointed out that this legitimation of lies through social networks now goes further, since figures such as the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and other heads of state have used it to echo the legitimation of those lies.

For this reason, he assured that these heads of state use social networks to spread a kind of haze to keep consumers confused and not see reality clearly.

For her part, the deputy to the AN, Tania Díaz, stated that an example of these were President Trump's statements about the alleged destruction of nuclear facilities in Iran.

“This is the origin of the media invention to which we are subject every day, but we have the antidote because we are communicating peoples, we are communicating people because that's what (Hugo) Chávez did to us,” he said.
