The first vice-president of the United
Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, during the
usual red awning press conference, recommended that young people review the
events of February 27, 1989 and learn why they occurred.
In this regard, he stressed the
importance of “young people knowing this story so that it does not repeat itself; International Monetary Fund (IMF), a denaturalized government, and they exposed the People and took them to a massacre
and in the end the people were to blame, and in the end the people were to blame.”
Cabello
questioned the fact that at that time the media described the people who came out
to defend their rights as “looters”, while recalling that Commander
Chávez pointed out that that day “the original power was automatically activated
and the big media spoke of looting, of disturbances.”
